What is development? What are the challenges to development in third world countries in particular to Pakistan, give relevant researched examples to support your answer?

Development:

Development is the process of change/improvement in a progressive direction. There are different dimensions of development. Development is another name of change, but this change does not have a proper definition or explanation. However, we can consider this change or development in the following way

Ø  Modernization:  It a development in which the social values and cultural heritage of a community or a nation changes depending upon the external influence of other nations. We can also name this change as cultural transformation. One community follows the trends and norms of other community that is somewhat superior to it.

Ø  Economic Growth:  One of the important development tools is economic development. Economic development consists of the production and consumption of Goods (Countries reserves) and the supply of cash/material money in a region. A country that exports more as compared to its imports is said to be an economically stable country. A countries economy depends upon other facts as well.

Ø  Resources: The resource is a kind of physical or abstract material that can help in the generation of Energy having various types. A country having various types of energy-generating materials (Oli, Gas, Patrol, Dams, etc.) in access comes in the category of a developed country.

Ø  Technology: Technology also plays a crucial role in development. Technology is the study of techniques to develop new creations busting the process of change/improvement. Technology includes news machinery, methods, goals, etc.

Ø  Political freedom: The basic requirement for development is freedom. A free society has all the necessary tools to progress. Political freedom means freedom of speech, freedom of liberty, freedom to choose, freedom of democracy, etc.

Ø  Infrastructure: It is the basic physical structure and material facilities a country process including buildings, roads, bridges, power supplies, dams, etc. A developed country has a good infrastructure and a good infrastructure plays a crucial role in development.

Development in Pakistan: The developing process in third world country is a little slower as compared to the developmental process in developed countries. The basic tools for development lack in third-world countries. Problems that slow downs the process of development are as following:

·        Corruption:  One of the basic barrier in the process of development is Corruption. It is said that corruption slowly and gradually eats away the roots of the development of a country. As it is clear that corruption is destructive for a country’s development. When a nation is corrupt then everyone is in a race to gather more and more money and physical necessities thus leaving social values under their shoes. A poor country faces many crises among that Corruption is major. When a country burns under corruption all its currency is taken to other developed countries causing devaluing of currency. Which then leads to Inflation, breaking the backbone of poor people.

·        Poverty: Poverty is one of the biggest problems of underdeveloped countries. We can also say that poverty is the root cause of most of the illegal acts in the country. It is well said that if someone’s belly is not filled then he can go to any extent no matter what are its circumstances. Poverty leads to criminal acts. The whole social structure is meaningless before poverty. Hunger blinds a man and he cannot main the social structure or values in the society. He just strives for his basic necessities to run the circuit of his family’s life. No other thing comes into one’s mind when in mental stress.

·        Illiteracy: According to Halen Caller education the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world. According to our religion Islam Education is a must for both men and women. This show how must importance education has in our life. Education defines a path to live a purposeful life. An educated man is superior to an uneducated man. In the third world countries feeding one’s family is the utmost priority. There no enough money to provide basic education to children. In these countries, very few people qualify for higher education but they can not continue this higher education’s due to economic issues.  It is very much clear when society consists of more illiterate people than educated then the ratio of crimes and illegal acts is higher in the society.

·        Political System: A country with democracy has a greater chance to develop. It is said that democracy is best to bring a change. Developed countries have a strong and stable political system. However, a poor country has a corrupt political system where basic freedom is not provided. A huge discrimination system is present that divides one class of society from the rest. Freedom of speech is not present in such countries. Thus, a whole bunch of unpolitical errors a present in society.

·        Judiciary system: A system without justice cannot flourish.  A place where law varies depending upon one’s social standard, development never knocks doors. Where weak gets punished and rich escapes the law in such places no development is observed. In third world countries, the justice system is equivalent to nothing whereas, in developed countries justice is quick and strong no one dares to break the law. In Pakistan, the word law does not exist for rich people. They create their own rules for their own benefit. Thus, the whole social structure is bullied by such bullies.

The is a lot to be done in Pakistan to get it going towards developments. A time is required to clean this big mess and it is not possible without our contribution. Thank you!
